History


For over three decades Turtle Rock Preschool, Kindergarten and Academy has strived to position itself as the best child care facility available in the area. Today we have proudly evolved into Orange County’s premier preschool. We have wonderful staff, some of whom have been with us for over 20 years.

Thousands of children have been a part of our history, including second-generation children (whose parents are themselves previous alumni).

October, 1978 | Planning begins for a new preschool in Turtle Rock, one of the five “villages” originally forming Irvine.

March, 1979 | Construction starts.

December 17, 1979 | Turtle Rock Preschool opens.

June, 1980 | Summer Camp started.

September, 1981 | Private Kindergarten created.

August, 1986 | Accredited by the National Association of Early Childhood Education, becoming the first private preschool to be accredited in the area.

March, 2002 | Recommended by Japan’s Day Care Media Research for relocating executives.

June, 2007 | Winner of “Best Preschool in Orange County” by CitySearch.

January, 2008 | Re-accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, making us one of the few preschools in the area to have met over 404 early childhood education criteria.

October, 2009 | Celebrated our 30th Anniversary.
